Every chapter of my journey has shaped the educator, advocate and leader I am today and strengthened my belief that every child deserves to be seen, understood and supported.
My journey began with a simple but powerful belief: every child learns differently and deserves an environment where they feel understood, valued and capable of growing.Working closely with children taught me that meaningful learning goes far beyond textbooks and classrooms. Children need opportunities to explore, create, communicate, make choices and discover their own strengths. I began to understand how much a child can grow when we take the time to understand how they learn best and create an environment that allows them to thrive.
My six years with Candy Club became one of the most meaningful chapters of my professional journey. Working closely with children through creative, hands on experiences allowed me to explore how learning can become more meaningful when children are encouraged to experiment, build, create and discover their own abilities. It was also during these years that my understanding of inclusive learning continued to grow. Working alongside children with different abilities and learning needs taught me the importance of creating environments where every child can participate, contribute and feel a genuine sense of belonging. Working closely with families and educators further strengthened my belief that inclusion is not simply about providing access. It is about understanding each child, recognizing their strengths and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
My journey continued at ViVi The Bear School, where I took on the role of Vice Principal and became part of building an inclusive educational environment where children with diverse abilities and needs could learn, grow and belong together. This experience deepened my understanding of what meaningful inclusion can look like within a school community. It reinforced my belief that children should not have to fit into a single way of learning. Instead, our environments should be flexible enough to recognize and respond to the individual needs, strengths and ways of learning of every child. At ViVi, I became increasingly passionate about looking at the whole child and creating spaces that nurture not only academic development, but also confidence, independence, communication, creativity and a strong sense of belonging.
Everything I have learned throughout my journey has led me to Untangle. Untangle brings together my experiences as an educator, inclusion advocate and child development practitioner with a simple purpose: to make the journey clearer for children and the families who support them. Too often, parents are left with questions about their child's development, learning or behaviour without knowing where to begin or who to turn to. I wanted to create a space where families could feel heard rather than overwhelmed, where concerns could be understood without judgement and where children could be seen beyond labels or limitations. Untangle is my way of bringing together everything I have learned and creating a space built on understanding, compassion and meaningful support. My hope is to help make the journey forward clearer, one child, one family and one step at a time.
“My journey has taught me that meaningful change begins when we truly listen, to children, to families and to the individual stories behind every experience.”
